The founders Of Dartmoor Whisky bought a cognac still in France and brought it to Devon in 2014. Founding their wonderful distillery building in the former Bovey Tracey Town Hall, the perfect Victorian building to be home to their project.
They brought Mr Frank McHardy from Campbeltown to Dartmoor to assess their project and were delighted when Frank assessed our plans and consented to be the Master Distiller. Frank has 50 years of experience as a master distiller, working at both Springbank & Bushmills Distilleries,
We are now delighted to be selling Dartmoor whiskies.
Made from locally-sourced hand turned barley on the edge of Dartmoor National Park, this young whisky has been aged in a single Bordeaux red wine cask for three years, before being cut with pure Dartmoor spring water.
The whisky is a warm red/ brown hue with red fruits on the nose and hints of coconut and chocolate on the pallet. Complimented by a sweet and floral finish.
