INFO: Caleruega is located in the north-western corner of the Ribera del Duero Designation of Origin. The grapes come from high-altitude vineyards with silty-clay soils.
Vinification is carried out with gentle macerations at low temperatures. Fermentation takes place in small stainless steel tanks, where it is carefully controlled to preserve the aromas of red and black fruits, with hints of licorice characteristic of Tempranillo and a touch of Merlot expression, which softens the tannins. Malolactic fermentation takes place in the same tanks, followed by racking to separate the lees. It is then aged for three months in 225-liter oak barrels, which lends complexity and roundness to the wine.
The wines are rich and rounded with layers of fruits balanced by vanilla and spices from the oak ageing
