INFO: Virgen de las Viñas is based in the up-and-coming region of Castilla la-Mancha and was founded in 1961 when 15 families joined forces to build a better future by focussing on producing quality wines from the region. Since the 1990s, La- Mancha has undergone dramatic change, with significant investment in transforming the arid landscape of the Meseta- the high plateau south of Madrid.
The grapes come from the Castilian plain, which is situated at 650 metres above sea level in Central Spain. The climate is continental, typical of the interior of the Iberian Peninsula, which is generally dry, receiving around 300 to 400mm of rain per year and enjoying over 3,000 hours of sunshine per year.
