Ca'rugate Ripasso - Valpolicella

Veneto has a huge array of different wine styles, both white and red, including, of course, the amazingly rich Amarone. The basic Valpolicella is often a light, easy drinking and not very impressive red, although perfect for a weeknight pizza! The Ripasso is a different beast, blending in, as it does, the dried grape skins used in Amarone. This adds a huge amount of power and concentration, whilst leaving the fruitiness and being less dense than Amarone. Very nice indeed.
