REGION; Rioja, Spain
VARIETIES; Tempranillo 90%, Garnacha 5%, Graciano 5%
INFO; 2014 generally experienced favourable weather during the growing season, which encouraged good vine and berry development. The grapes show more intensity than the previous vintage and the Control Board of the D.O.Ca. Rioja awarded an
official rating of 'Good' to the 2014 vintage.
Each grape variety was fermented separately in temperature controlled vats. The fermentation lasted approximately 16 to 18 days, at controlled temperatures of 28 to 30°C. The wine was blended and then matured for 16 months in American and French oak barriques. Typical aromas of traditionally made Rioja, with leather, vanilla and spice backed by
mature, red fruits. Smooth and subtle on the palate, with well integrated tannins and
a long, persistent finish.
