Led by English winemaker Tim Manning who cut his vinous teeth in vintages in Oregon, there is a determination to show the potential of the region. As a result he is at odds with the Consorzio of Chianti Classico over his methods and approach.
The grapes are 100% destemmed, hand plunged with a natural 35 day fermentation and maceration with local yeasts in open top tanks. Aged for 18 months in old French Barriques.
A vibrant ruby colour. An incredibly rich nose of ripe cherries and ripe plums with a subtle alcohol touch. On the palate it is full bodied, shows excellent balance between the fruit, alcohol and acidity.
