INFO:
Fitou is right at the southern point of France, beyond Narbonne and just before Perpignan and the Spanish border. Technically part of the greater Languedoc wine region, it, like Minervois and Corbieres, makes a name for itself separately due to its proximity to both the Mediterranean and the Pyrenees. They produce wonderfully rich, smooth wines, which typically have that herbal dusty aromas you might associated with an arid mountaintop. Wines well worth getting to know.
