REGION: Aconcagua Valley, Chile
VARIETIES: Chardonnay 60%, Viognier 40%
INFO: In Situ is a ‘terroir project’ with the vineyards located at the eastern end of the Aconcagua river valley. The warm daytime temperatures provide ideal ripening conditions for the grapes, while the altitude and the breezes that descend from the Andes mountains at night provide the cooling required to achieve the balancing acidity necessary for great wines.
Hand-picked and fermented in French oak barrels, it was then barrel-aged over its fine lees for 6 months. The wine didn’t undergo malolactic fermentation in order to keep the acidity and minerality of the blend. After bottling, this wine was aged for at least 3 additional months before release.
The resulting wines balance pears and minerality on the palate with the weight and floral notes of the Viognier
